NewGen Energy’s [CEO], Abe Emard grew up on his family farm in Penryn, California. He worked on the ranch throughout his childhood and late teen years, developing a keen understanding of the agribusiness. Later on, he branched into the commercial and industrial electrical industry and together with his family, grew the company. When Abe’s father retired, he moved to Northern California where he currently operates nearly 2000 acres of alfalfa, rye, and around 300 head of cattle. Abe leveraged his experience in electrical and general contracting but moved his focus to renewable energy sources, starting his own solar and alternative energy business in 2009. He and his brothers still help out on the ranch with larger events like the annual harvest, planting, cattle drives, and more.
